Your web site comes complete with a Virtual FTP (File Transfer Protocol) account. This permits you to make software and data available to any web user with FTP capabilities. Your FTP address will be ftp.yourcompany.com and will be indistinguishable from company addresses on expensive dedicated FTP servers. (available on Merchant and Shared Hosting plan.)

phpMyAdmin

phpMyAdmin can manage a whole MySQL-server (needs a super-user) but also a single database. To accomplish the latter you'll need a properly set up MySQL-user who can read/write only the desired database.

Just upgrade Miva Merchant, upgrade the OpenUI, upgrade your 3rd party modules and you are ready to go! The OpenUI also gives your store many times more flexibility than the standard MMUI, even if you don't use 3rd party modules.
